What We Do

What We Do

The current storage space of 100,000 tonnes, has grown progressively over the years to meet the demands of the increasing membership.

The site is comprised of 60 silos of varying sizes. This gives great flexibility, segregating the many grades of combinable crops we store.  Our three intake pits have a total maximum intake capacity of 750 tonnes per hour, filling 16 intake bins which are each linked to 3 continuous flow driers.

Our ability to segregate many different grades of crops provides every opportunity for blending loads to add value during the storage period.

All silos are fitted with automated temperature sensors and are ventilated with computer-controlled fans to ensure grain quality is maintained during long-term storage.

Our focus is to provide a cost-effective storage alternative to traditional on-farm storage, whilst maximising the financial potential of all members’ combinable crops. We are fully TASCC assured (YY 462).

Our Storage presents a realistic option to farmers whose on farm facilities may have outlived their natural lifespan, and are no longer cost effective to rebuild. Others may simple have outgrown their storage or lack the segregation to make use of modern marketing opportunities. Members may find that investing in off-farm storage frees up existing buildings that can then be used to create other income streams.

Woldgrain’s established fleet of dedicated, subcontracted local hauliers ensures that members’ grain is collected promptly and efficiently to meet the expectations of the members.
